Abhishek Sharma has suffered a major setback ahead of the India vs. England T20 series, dropping to second place in the latest ICC rankings. Abhishek had become the number-one T20 batsman in July last year. He was dethroned by none other than another Indian batsman. In the rankings released on Wednesday, July 1st, Ishan Kishan became the new number-one T20 batsman.

In the latest ICC rankings, Ishan Kishan has become the new number-one T20 batsman with a rating of 876, his career-best. Abhishek Sharma, who was dismissed for a duck in the second T20I against Ireland, has slipped to second place with a rating of 869. Furthermore, there has been another change in the top 10, with Jos Buttler dropping to seventh with a rating of 716, and Suryakumar Yadav dropping to eighth with a rating of 708.

Ishan Kishan returned to T20 action during the New Zealand tour just before the T20 World Cup this year. He has been consistently performing well since then. He has rapidly risen in the rankings and today holds the number one spot.

Varun Chakraborty also suffered losses.

Varun Chakravarthy has dropped one spot in the ICC T20 bowling rankings, dropping to third. He missed the T20 series against Ireland due to injury. Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed has moved up from third to second. Afghanistan's Rashid Khan remains the number one T20 bowler with a rating of 753.

Shivam Dubey moves up three places.

Shivam Dube has gained three places in the T20 all-rounder rankings, reaching seventh place with a rating of 220. This is his career-best rating. Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza holds the top spot in the T20 all-rounder rankings, followed by Hardik Pandya in second.
