How did a 23-year-old girl die while dancing on stage, cardiologist explains everything

A girl from Indore died while dancing on stage. She was only 23 years old. An expert doctor from Delhi gave his opinion on such problems and said that young people do not get heart attacks, they get cardiac arrest. Let's know the difference between the two.

A case from Indore is becoming quite popular these days, in which a girl suddenly fell face down while dancing during a wedding at Magdham Resort in Vidisha. When she was taken to the hospital, the doctors declared her dead. This girl named Parineeta Jain was only 23 years old. She was a resident of Indore and had come to attend her cousin sister's wedding. This case has also gained a lot of attention on social media and once again the question has started arising in our society whether young people can also get heart attacks.

This happens to younger people

To know the reason behind heart attacks at a young age, we spoke to Apollo Hospital's renowned cardiologist Dr Mukesh Goyal. He told us that older people get heart attacks and younger people get cardiac arrest. People should first understand the difference between the two.

This happens to the elderly

He told us that a heart attack occurs when cholesterol and calcium get deposited in the holes of the heart's arteries. These are clean at first but as age increases, they get clogged. Despite this, blood flow continues. What happens is that a person starts feeling breathless while walking, which gets cured after resting for a while. But when a blood clot forms and the area where the heart's blood supply stops completely, the muscles in that area start dying.

Due to the continuous death of heart muscles of that area, the blood supply to the heart stops completely and if it is not restored within 20 to 30 minutes, then the person dies. This is called a heart attack. Usually it is seen in people above the age of 40.

Sudden death i.e. cardiac arrest

Dr. Mukesh Goyal told that cardiac arrest means sudden death, when the heartbeat suddenly stops and the person falls down and dies. Cardiac arrest is usually seen in people aged 20 to 25 years. It is more common in younger people and its main reason is any congenital heart disease, i.e. congenital heart defect. However, nowadays lifestyle is also becoming a reason.

In the case of Indore, the same thing has happened with a 23-year-old girl. When someone has a congenital heart disease and it is not treated on time or does not get proper care, then cardiac arrest can happen. Cardiac arrest means sudden stopping of heartbeat.

These tests will tell whether the heart is fit or not

He further explains that people do not need to get all kinds of tests done to check their heart. Just by getting some major tests done, it will be known how strong their heart is. For this, first of all lipid profile should be done, which measures bad cholesterol. Its value should be below 100.

Get these tests done too

The second test is of HDL, which measures good cholesterol. Its value should be below 40. The third test is of triglyceride test, whose value should be below 150. After this, blood sugar and blood pressure tests are also necessary, which should be kept under control. Just by getting these tests done, it will be known how strong and fit the heart is.
