Australia vs England: On completion of 150 years of Test cricket, a single Test match will be played between Australia and England in March 2025. This match will be day-night and will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Cricket Australia announced on Tuesday (March 11).

This match to be held on the 150th anniversary will be played from 11 to 15 March. Let us tell you that in 1877, the first match in Test history between the two teams was played on this ground itself. The match was played in 1977 on its 100th anniversary. The interesting thing is that the result was the same in the first match of Test history and the match played on completion of 100 years. Australia won both the matches by 45 runs.

Let us tell you that this will be the first time when a men's day-night Test match will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Australia men's cricket calendar in 2027 is quite busy. In December and January 2026-27, Australia will play a four-Test series against New Zealand on home soil. After this, in January and February, Team India will come to India to play a five-Test series against India. After this, it will return to play a single match against England. Let us tell you that the IPL in 2027 will start from March 14.

This Test match will not be a part of the World Test Championship, but will Australia be able to qualify for the 2027 final, as it did in the 2023 and 2025 editions.
