A shocking crime has come to light in Hyderabad's Meerpet, where an ex-army man allegedly killed his wife, chopped her body into pieces and then attempted to dispose of the remains by boiling them in a pressure cooker and dumping them in a lake in Jillelguda. During the police investigation into his wife's disappearance, Guru Murthy, 45, made a shocking confession, which the authorities are currently confirming.

Investigations began after 35-year-old Venkata Madhavi was reported missing by her family on January 16. Police suspicion fell on her husband Guru Murthy, who eventually confessed to the crime during interrogation.

Shocking details about the crime reveal that the husband allegedly chopped the body into pieces in the bathroom and then used a pressure cooker to boil its pieces. He then boiled the bones again using a pestle to destroy evidence. According to a TOI report, for three days, the man cooked and processed the remains repeatedly and finally dumped them in the Meerpet lake.

Accused Guru Murthy has an Army background and currently works as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Guru Murthy went to the police station with his in-laws to report his wife missing, he expressed ignorance about his wife's disappearance. He also helped the police in the search operation. However, as suspicion grew, Murthy was taken into custody for questioning, where he finally confessed his crime. The Meerpet police conducted an investigation on the spot and registered a case of murder, following which Murthy was arrested.
