Bank of Baroda: Nearly 1TB of Bank of Baroda data has been leaked on the dark web. This includes customer names, phone numbers, Aadhaar numbers, account records, loan information, and net banking details.

Bank of Baroda Data Leak News: Bank of Baroda (BoB) has been the victim of a major cyber attack. According to media reports, a hacker claims to have leaked approximately 1TB (terabyte) of sensitive bank data for free on the dark web. The hacker says he stole approximately 1TB of data from the bank's servers and uploaded it online, where anyone can download and analyze it. This alleged data dump includes customer records, banking information, internal documents, audit reports, and compliance records.
However, at the time of writing, there has been no official confirmation from Bank of Baroda, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), or the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In). If the data is genuine, it could put customers at risk of phishing attacks, identity theft, and financial fraud.
What is included in the leaked data?
According to links posted on the dark web, the 1TB data includes several key details of various bank branches across the country:
- Personal details of customers like name, mobile number and Aadhaar card number.
- Savings and current account details, netbanking user information.
- Customer loan documents, NRI banking records and corporate banking related files.
- Bank's internal audit, branch vigilance check and audit reports linked to the bank app.
Simply put, if you are a Bank of Baroda customer, the above-mentioned account information may be present in the 1TB of data available for download, and this information may be linked to your identity and name.
Do this work immediately.
- Change your Internet Banking and Mobile Banking login ID and password immediately.
- Since hackers have also claimed to have leaked your Aadhaar number, lock your Aadhaar biometrics by visiting the official UIDAI website or the mAadhaar app. This will prevent your Aadhaar from being misused.
- Do not trust any suspicious calls, SMS or emails in which the caller claims to be a bank employee.
- Check your bank account statements regularly to identify any suspicious activity immediately.
