Why is the heart betraying us at a young age?

You must have often felt that nowadays the cases of deaths due to heart attack or cardiac arrest at a young age are increasing rapidly. While earlier it was considered a disease of the middle age and the elderly, now it is taking the lives of even children. Let us try to understand why the cases of death due to heart disease are continuously increasing among the youth, and how can these be avoided.

1. Unhealthy foods

Junk food, fried food and excessive consumption of sweets can harm the health of the heart. This increases the cholesterol level and can block the arteries.

2. Tension and depression

Mental stress, tension, depression or anxiety can also be a major cause of heart attack and cardiac arrest. Constant worrying increases the level of cortisol (stress hormone) in the body, which can increase blood pressure and put pressure on the heart.

3. Lack of physical activities -

Lack of regular exercise can weaken the heart. The habit of sitting in office and home lifestyle reduces the efficiency of the heart.

4. Getting less sleep:

If you are getting less sleep due to work pressure, depression or traveling, then it can prove harmful for heart health.

5. Smoking and drinking

Smoking and drinking too much alcohol narrows the blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack.

6. Diabetes and High Blood Pressure

Diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure are becoming common at a young age, which can prove to be very dangerous for the heart.

Ways to avoid heart attack
