Jagdeep Dhankar: He left the House just hours after presiding over the first day of the monsoon session of the Rajya Sabha for 2025. His term as the 14th Vice President of the country was to end in 2027.

Jagdeep Dhankar Resigns: Jagdeep Dhankar suddenly took a big step on Monday and resigned from the post of Vice President. He took this decision giving 'priority to health'.

In his letter to President Draupadi Murmu, he said, "In order to give priority to my health care and to follow medical advice, I hereby resign from the post of Vice President of India with immediate effect under Article 67(A) of the Constitution." 

Was to preside over the monsoon session

He left the House just hours after presiding over the first day of the monsoon session of the Rajya Sabha for 2025. He was to preside over several important sessions, including the Business Advisory Committee, as Rajya Sabha Chairman on July 22.

Apart from this, he was also going to visit Jaipur on a one-day visit on July 23, 2025. During this, he was going to interact with the members of the newly elected committee of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) at Rambagh Palace in Jaipur.

74-year-old Dhankhar took charge as the 14th Vice President of the country in August 2022. His term was to end in 2027, but he submitted his resignation before that. 

Jagdeep Dhankhar Net Worth 

The Vice President of the country gets many facilities. The Vice President of India gets a salary of about 4 lakh rupees every month.

Apart from this, he also gets many other allowances such as government accommodation, medical facility, travel allowance, Z category security, staff and secretarial assistance, etc. Thus, Dhankhar's weekly salary was Rs 92,307, while his daily income was Rs 18,461.

His annual salary would be around Rs 48 lakh. According to reports, he has movable assets worth about Rs 4.5 crore and immovable assets worth about Rs 3.3 crore.
