Yuvraj Singh
Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is joining the coaching staff of the Delhi Capitals. The franchise will appoint Sourav Ganguly as head coach. DC co-owner JSW will take control of the team for two years, starting in IPL 2027. It's worth noting that DC is one of the few teams that has yet to win the Indian Premier League title.
This will be the first time Yuvraj Singh will be part of an IPL team's coaching staff. According to sources close to the league, he will become the Delhi Capitals' batting coach, having personally helped develop Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, and Prabhsimran Singh. According to reports, Yuvraj's coaching style has appealed to several franchises, as evidenced by the success of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. Yuvraj would like to play a key role in helping the Delhi Capitals win their first IPL title as a batting coach.
What did the source say about Yuvraj Singh?
According to a Times of India report, the source said, "Who wouldn't want a legend like Yuvraj Singh in the dugout? His teammates like Ashish Nehra, Virender Sehwag, and Zaheer Khan have all coached in the IPL. Yuvraj might be joining a little late, but he has spent a lot of time grooming young players in this role."
It's worth noting that under Axar Patel's captaincy, the Delhi Capitals had a poor run in IPL 2026, winning seven out of 14 matches and losing seven. Head coach Hemang Badani faced criticism for several of his decisions.
