Young Man Beaten to Death by Shopkeeper Over Cold Samosa; Relatives Protest on Road in Patna

A shocking incident unfolded in Patna, Bihar, where a young man was beaten to death by a shopkeeper after complaining that the samosas he bought were cold. The deceased’s relatives protested by placing his body on a busy road. Following the uproar, police registered a case against the shopkeeper and his associates and have arrested them. The incident occurred on the evening of May 16 in Khusrupur, near the Patna city limits. Police are actively investigating the case.

According to the police, the deceased is identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Shyam Babu Gop, residing in the Rajwada police station area. After the post-mortem examination, his body was handed over to the family for final rites. The family’s complaint states that on May 16, Ravi went to a samosa shop owned by Baleshwar Rai. Ravi raised objections about the samosas being cold and questioned their quality, which led to a heated argument with the shopkeeper.

Severe Beating Leads to Death

The family says the argument escalated quickly, and Baleshwar Rai along with two companions severely beat Ravi. He sustained serious head injuries and injuries on other parts of his body. Though his family rushed him to the hospital immediately, doctors discharged him after providing first aid. However, the next day, Ravi developed a severe headache and fainted. He was taken back to the hospital, where he passed away on Sunday afternoon during treatment.

Protest and Police Action

Following Ravi’s death, his family and local residents expressed outrage by taking his body to the old national highway and staging a protest. Police station in-charge Manjeet Kumar Thakur arrived at the scene to calm the crowd and assured them that justice would be served. The police have filed a case against the accused and arrested them. The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on the findings.
