How to remove yellow sweat stains from a white shirt?
How To Remove Yellow Sweat Stains From White Shirts: Almost everyone loves wearing a white shirt, but there's one problem that ruins its beauty: yellow sweat stains. These stains, especially those around the underarms, can sometimes become so stubborn that even regular washing doesn't remove them. People often buy expensive stain removers, but they still don't achieve the desired results. If your white shirt has yellow sweat stains, there's no need to panic. These stains can be easily removed with a few common household items.
Why do yellow spots appear?
Many people think that sweat alone causes these stains, but that's not true. When the salt and minerals in sweat combine with the aluminum in deodorant or antiperspirant, yellow marks form on clothing. These stains deepen over time.
The magic of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda
A mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda is considered very effective for removing yellow stains from white clothes. To do this, mix one-quarter cup of hydrogen peroxide, one-quarter cup of baking soda, and a little water in a bowl to form a thick paste. Apply this paste to the stained area and gently scrub with an old toothbrush or sponge. Let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes to allow it to penetrate the stain. Then, rinse thoroughly with cold or lukewarm water.
Vinegar and lemon are also effective.
If you don't have hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar is a good alternative. Apply vinegar to the stained area, leave it for about half an hour, and then wash as usual. A paste made by mixing lemon juice and baking soda can also help remove yellow stains. Apply it to the stain, leave it on for 30 minutes, and then rinse.
