There is a several kilometer long jam on the main road going to Prayagraj via Jabalpur, Katni and Rewa. The situation became so serious that the Katni police had to appeal to the people with folded hands to return.

Lakhs of devotees have gathered to take a dip of faith in the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Devotees coming from South India are also moving towards Prayagraj via this route, due to which the traffic pressure has increased manifold. The situation worsened on Sunday, due to which thousands of vehicles got stuck on the highway. Long queues of vehicles are spread over 10 to 15 kilometers. Katni police is facing a lot of trouble in controlling the traffic.

Police appealed to the devotees to return home

Katni police personnel are appealing to the devotees with folded hands. "The roads of Allahabad are completely full, please return. Stay in nearby hotels and dhabas. There are a lot of difficulties in the journey due to heavy crowd." According to the police, the jam has spread for 200 to 300 kilometers. Prayagraj police is being contacted continuously, but it will take time for the situation to become normal.

Mahakumbh jam exposes the arrangements

The main reasons for this terrible jam are. Lakhs of devotees coming on the roads together. Weak preparations of the administration. Arbitrary collection at the toll barrier. Travelers are being advised to avoid traveling without any important reason and if possible, postpone the journey for a few days.
