The Izzat Nagar police in Bareilly have uncovered a prostitution racket operating under the guise of a spa center. Police arrested eight people, including six women, from the spa. During interrogation, the women revealed that despite wanting a luxurious lifestyle, their financial conditions forced them into this business voluntarily. Currently, all accused have been booked under relevant laws and presented before the court. The investigation is ongoing.
According to Bareilly CO III, Pankaj Srivastava, complaints about a prostitution racket in Karmachari Nagar had been received for a long time. Acting on these complaints, police raided a house where suspicious activities were underway and found men and women in objectionable situations. The house was rented by Rabina, a Jharkhand resident.
Rabina’s Role in Running the Racket
During questioning, Rabina admitted to running the racket. The women stated that unemployment and financial difficulties pushed them into this business willingly. None were forced. Rabina arranged customers and connected them to the women. Deals with clients were made over the phone, with fees ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,500 per client.
Payments Through Cash and Online Modes
Payments were mostly received in cash, but for convenience, PhonePe was also accepted. Two QR code scanners were installed at the center. While Rabina primarily contacted customers, the women also called clients themselves. The arrested include Sachin Kumar and Kishan Kumar from Bhojipura, Rabina from Jharkhand, Ayesha from Saharanpur, Jyoti from Bareilly, Afreen from Delhi, Fabia Parveen, and Rani from Moradabad.
