India is set to witness diverse weather conditions on June 11, with thunderstorms, gusty winds, and scattered rainfall expected in several regions. While the southwest monsoon continues to strengthen across southern and northeastern states, parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, may finally receive some relief from the intense summer heat.
According to weather forecasts, a combination of western disturbances and advancing monsoon systems is influencing weather patterns across the country. As a result, many regions are likely to experience a mix of rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and fluctuating temperatures.
Delhi-NCR Likely to Witness Rain and Dust Storms
Residents of Delhi-NCR can expect partly cloudy skies throughout the day, with light rainfall and thunderstorms likely during the evening and nighttime hours. Weather experts predict that dust storms may also accompany strong winds, creating temporary disruptions in some areas.
Maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 40°C and 42°C, while minimum temperatures may range from 27°C to 29°C. Although temperatures will remain high, weather activity could reduce the intensity of heatwave conditions.
Authorities have issued a yellow alert for June 11 and June 12 due to the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds.
Delhi Weather Outlook
- June 11: Light rain, thunderstorms, and winds reaching 40–50 km/h during the evening and night.
- June 12: Similar conditions expected during the afternoon and evening hours.
- June 13: Maximum temperature around 36°C and minimum around 25°C.
- June 14: Maximum temperature near 38°C and minimum around 26°C.
- June 15: Temperatures expected to remain around 38°C and 26°C.
The weather pattern is expected to bring noticeable relief from the extreme heat that has affected the region over the past several days.
Western Disturbance to Impact North India
A western disturbance remains active across northwestern parts of the country. States including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan may experience isolated rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.
Wind speeds could range between 30 and 50 km/h in some areas. While hot weather conditions will continue in several locations, temperatures may decline by 2°C to 4°C compared to recent levels.
Central India to See Increased Moisture
In Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, partly cloudy conditions are expected throughout the day. Localized thunderstorms and light rain may occur in some districts as moisture levels increase due to the gradual advancement of the monsoon.
Temperatures are likely to remain slightly above seasonal averages, but changing weather conditions could prevent extreme heat from intensifying further.
Rainfall Activity to Increase in Eastern India
Eastern states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in several districts.
Weather officials have also warned that a few areas may receive heavy rainfall due to the strengthening monsoon flow. Despite the rain, temperatures are expected to remain relatively stable across the region.
Heavy Rain Forecast for Northeast India
The northeast is likely to remain one of the wettest parts of the country. States including Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may continue receiving widespread rainfall.
Several locations could experience heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and lightning activity. Sikkim and the sub-Himalayan areas of West Bengal are also expected to receive significant rainfall over the coming days.
Residents in vulnerable regions are advised to remain cautious, particularly in areas prone to flooding and landslides.
Monsoon Strengthens Across South India
The southwest monsoon remains highly active over southern India. Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall, with thunderstorms expected in some districts.
The rainfall is expected to provide relief from high temperatures while improving moisture levels across agricultural regions. Major cities, including Chennai, may also witness pleasant weather conditions due to intermittent showers.
Maharashtra and Gujarat to See Mixed Conditions
Monsoon progress continues across western India, although rainfall distribution may remain uneven. Some parts of Maharashtra could receive rain and thunderstorms, while several regions may continue to experience warm and dry conditions.
Gujarat is expected to witness similar weather patterns, with isolated rainfall activity in select districts. Weather experts suggest that local weather systems will continue influencing rainfall distribution during the early phase of the monsoon season.
Nationwide Weather Outlook
June 11 is expected to bring a mix of thunderstorms, rainfall, gusty winds, and changing temperatures across India. While southern and northeastern states remain under strong monsoon influence, northern regions may finally get relief from prolonged heatwave conditions.
People are advised to stay updated with local weather alerts, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during thunderstorms, and take precautions against strong winds and lightning, especially in areas under weather warnings.
