Weather Forecast: India scorched before Holi! Gujarat becomes the hottest state in the country, mercury crosses 42°C, heatwave alert in these states

Weather Update: Even before Holi, the heat has increased in many parts of the country. In many states including Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Gujarat, the temperature has reached above normal, due to which the risk of heatwave has increased.

Weather News: With the beginning of March, the temperature has started rising rapidly in many parts of the country. Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan are recording more heat than normal. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a health risk warning in many states where the temperature has crossed 40 degrees Celsius. Gujarat has been put on red alert while an orange alert has been issued for Maharashtra and south-west Rajasthan.

The high pressure system running in Gujarat and surrounding areas is being blamed for this heatwave. According to meteorologist S.D. Sanap, the temperature is rising rapidly due to this high pressure system. Those most affected by the heatwave include the elderly, children and people suffering from chronic diseases. The Meteorological Department has advised people to drink adequate amount of water and avoid sunlight.

Heat wave in Maharashtra and Rajasthan too

Temperatures in many parts of Maharashtra have crossed 40 degrees Celsius. Pune recorded the hottest day of the season on Wednesday (March 12) where the temperature in Koregaon Park and Lohegaon was 40.2 degrees Celsius. Similarly, heatwave conditions prevail in many places in Rajasthan. North Konkan, especially Mumbai, also experienced heatwaves earlier this week. However, meteorologists believe that temperatures may drop in some areas from Thursday (March 13).

Gujarat became the hottest state

Looking at the temperature data across the country, Gujarat is considered to be the hottest state at this time. Temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius have been recorded in many cities here. Rajkot recorded 42.1 degrees Celsius, Amreli and Surendranagar recorded more than 41 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Porbandar reached 40.8 degrees Celsius, 7.6 degrees above normal. At the same time, 41.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Akola in Maharashtra and 40.6 degrees Celsius in Chandrapur.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of getting some relief in many areas in the next few days, but the heat wave is expected to continue in states like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. In such a situation, people have been advised to remain active and adopt measures to avoid the heat.
