Viral Video: A case of brutal beating of students by a police officer has come to light at Sankatmochan police post located in Lanka police station area of Varanasi. The video of this incident went viral on social media, in which post in-charge Naveen Chaturvedi is seen brutally beating the students. In the video, he grabs a student by his hair and throws him on the ground and then beats him with a stick. The students kept pleading their innocence and kept appealing to be released by taking the name of Lord Bajrangbali, but the police officer did not show any mercy to them.

According to the information, this incident took place at the police post located near Sankatmochan temple. This case is related to an old clash between two groups of students, whose CCTV footage was found by the police. On the basis of this, post in-charge Naveen Chaturvedi called
some students of one side to the post and beat them brutally there.
As soon as the video of this incident surfaced, people became angry and started raising questions on the police administration. Senior officials of Varanasi Police took cognizance of the matter and Kashi Zone DCP Gaurav Bansal suspended the accused outpost in-charge Naveen Chaturvedi with immediate effect. The DCP clearly said that no policeman has the right to take the law into his own hands and such brutality will not be tolerated. Also, he assured that strict action will be taken against other guilty policemen in this case.
This incident has once again raised questions on the working style of the police. This brutality of the police with the students not only puts a question mark on law and order, but also creates a feeling of insecurity among the general public. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police administration will have to take strict steps so that such incidents do not recur in the future.
