Magh Mela 2026: The Magh Mela, the grand festival of Sanatan Dharma, has begun. On Paush Purnima, a large number of people took a holy dip at the confluence. Kalpavasis will perform chanting, meditation, and spiritual practice for 44 days during the Magh Mela.

Magh Mela 2026: The Magh Mela has been inaugurated with great pomp in Prayagraj. Devotees took a holy dip on Paush Purnima. The fair will run from January 3rd to February 15th. As the Sanatan Magh Mela began, a large crowd of devotees gathered at the Sangam in Prayagraj. Braving the bitter cold, devotees took a holy dip in the Sangam. Devotees, saints, and Kalpavasis from various parts of the country are camping in Prayagraj.

The Magh Mela is being called a mini Kumbh. It is said that those who take a holy dip at the confluence of Prayag in the month of Magh are freed from all sins by the path to salvation. For 44 days, devotees will perform rigorous chanting and meditation on the sands of the confluence. An estimated 120-150 million people are expected to attend the Magh Mela from Paush Purnima to Maghi Purnima.
When is the second bath of Magh Mela 2026?
Bathing on key dates during the Magh Mela is significant. After Paush Purnima, the second major bath at the Magh Mela will be held on January 14th, Makar Sankranti. From this day, the sun moves northward. Bathing in the Ganges on Makar Sankranti is an opportunity to receive the blessings of the gods and goddesses. There will be a total of six major baths during the Magh Mela. In addition to bathing, charity is also important on Makar Sankranti.
