This artist's name is Nalla Vijay Kumar, a weaver from Sircilla who has brought fame to the city with his art. A video of his remarkable work is going viral on social media, leaving people stunned. Nalla Vijay Kumar presented this rare silk saree to Goddess Bharamaraba at the famous Srisailam Temple in the presence of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple Trust Board Chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and Board of Trustees member Kode Kanthivardhini. The saree now adorns the Srisailam Temple. The temple trust has warmly welcomed this unique gift and praised the weaver. Nalla Vijay Kumar's display of his weaving skills has earned him national recognition.
Features of the unique 'Ikkat' saree (Ikkat Silk Saree)
It's certainly a dream to see this 5.5-meter-long and 48-inch-wide sari fit into a tiny matchbox, but it wasn't easy. Hard work and the power of traditional handloom weaving made this achievable. According to Nalla Vijay Kumar, he and his family created this sari, which took seven days to complete. Working day and night, this sari, weighing just 200 grams, is woven in the 'ikat' design, renowned for its intricate work. The threads used in this sari are so finely woven that it can be folded and folded to fit into a small box.
