Trump Greenland News: Trump's offer to buy Greenland is not a joke. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has made it clear that America really wants to buy Greenland.

Greenland buying US: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has justified President Donald Trump's desire to capture Greenland and regain control of the Panama Canal. Rubio said it is motivated by legitimate national security interests arising from growing concerns about Chinese activity and influence in the Arctic and Latin America. Ahead of a trip to Central America starting in Panama this weekend, Rubio said he cannot predict whether Trump will succeed in buying Greenland from Denmark or restoring US rights to the Panama Canal during his term. But doing so is no joke.
We will be stronger after 4 years
Rubio said Trump's focus on both the Panama Canal and Greenland will have an impact. "I think you can rest assured that four years from now our interests in the Arctic will be more secure. And our interests in the Panama Canal will be more secure," Rubio said.
First official visit to Panama
Rubio will arrive in Panama on Saturday on his first official foreign trip as America's top diplomat, reflecting the importance both he and Trump attach to the canal's security. He said Chinese investment in ports and other infrastructure and facilities on both the Pacific and Caribbean sides of the canal is a cause for great concern, making Panama and the vital shipping route vulnerable to China. Rubio has said they (Chinese companies) are all over Panama.
The President said there will be no talk on ownership
Apart from this, in Panama, the country's President Jose Raul Mulino said on Thursday that there will be no talks with the US over the ownership of the Panama Canal. He said that hopefully, the upcoming visit of the US Secretary of State will give him an opportunity to focus on shared interests, including tackling migration and drug trafficking.
Rubio is coming as an emissary of US President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly suggested that the US should retake the Panama Canal. When Mulino was asked about returning the canal to US control, he said, "It's impossible, I can't negotiate. It's done. The canal belongs to Panama."
