Amidst the ruckus, the visit of Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla to the International Space Station (ISS) was discussed at 2 pm. During the discussion, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that in 2040, an Indian astronaut will land on the surface of the moon.

Along with this, the Union Minister also said that today when the whole country is celebrating the successful space mission on the return of Shubhanshu, the opposition is still creating a ruckus and is not ready for discussion in the House. He said that how can the opposition be angry with the astronaut.

Opposition created ruckus in the House

The opposition created a ruckus and raised slogans in the House on the issue of SIR. Due to which the proceedings of the House had to be adjourned twice. When the proceedings resumed at 2 pm, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla initiated a special discussion on the topic 'India's first astronaut on the International Space Station - Important role of space program for developed India by 2047'.

'Indian astronaut will land on the moon in 2040'

Amid sloganeering by members of opposition parties, Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh initiated the discussion on Shubhanshu Shukla's space journey and said 'an Indian astronaut will land on the surface of the moon in 2040'. He said that this will be the realisation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve to make India a developed country by 2047.

The minister targeted the opposition

Taking aim at the opposition members who were creating a ruckus in the House, the minister said that 'It is very painful to say that when there is an atmosphere of celebration in the country and the country is celebrating the achievements in the field of space, the opposition is not ready to congratulate even the experts associated with the space sector. He said that the opposition may be angry with the government and BJP, NDA, but it is surprising that the opposition can also be angry with an astronaut, a Gaganyaan passenger.

Pointing towards the opposition members who were raising slogans in the House, the minister said, "You are angry with the earth, angry with the sky and today you seem to be angry with space as well." He said that the opposition's protest is an expression of anger towards itself because it has failed in all its plans. They are not able to make any point.

'The world has acknowledged India's strength'

Referring to Shubhanshu Shukla's visit to the International Space Station, the minister said that 'indigenously developed kits' were used in the experiments conducted there and the mantra of self-reliant India was followed through these experiments. He said that after the space journey, Shubhanshu arrived in the national capital only yesterday (Sunday) and some time before that, the whole world acknowledged India's strength by seeing the demonstration of India's capabilities in space during Operation Sindoor.

While mentioning the achievements of the NDA government, the minister said that the technology for the role of the Department of Space during Operation Sindoor was developed in the last 10 years. Along with this, targeting the previous governments, he said that the question will be asked that what was the reason that our Department of Space kept working at a slow pace for 50 to 60 years.
