Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodara
This palace was built in 1890 by Maharaja Satyajirao Gaekwad III and is still the residential palace of the former rulers of Gujarat, the Gaekwads. This palace, carved out of a blend of Indian and European architecture, has a golf course, a 600-year-old stepwell, a zoo, and a museum attached to it. What is called a museum today was used as a school for the children of the palace to study. Gaekwad Maharaja also started a small mini-train to ferry the children to and from school. The Gaekwad family still lives on the first floor of this palace. This palace has more glasswork than any other palace in the world. It is four times bigger than Buckingham Palace in London in size.
City Palace, Jaipur

Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur
Jodhpur's Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the largest private residences in the world. This palace is owned by Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji, a member of the royal family of Jodhpur. The construction of this palace started in 1929 and the palace was completed in 1943. Currently, this palace is divided into three parts, the first part of which houses the Taj Palace Hotel, the second part houses the residence of the royal family and the third part houses the museum.
Jai Vilas Palace, Gwalior
Jai Vilas Palace was built by Maharaja Jayaji Rao Scindia in 1874. Michael Filos was the architect who designed this magnificent structure and incorporated the European style of architecture in his designs. The three floors of this palace have different styles of architecture. The first is in the Tuscan style, the second in the Italian Doric, and the third in the Corinthian style. The erstwhile royal seat is now a museum, known as the Jiwaji Rao Scindia Museum.
Mubarak Mandi Palace, Jammu
The magnificent Mubarak Mandi Palace in Jammu is an important part of the history of the province. It was from here that the Dogra kings ruled their vast kingdom for two hundred years. But the history of this palace was not limited to them. The oldest building in the palace complex dates back to 1824. Successive maharajas added to the complex in size and building over more than 150 years. The architecture is a blend of Rajasthani architecture and European Baroque and Mughal styles.
