Janaki Temple
There is a grand Janaki temple in Punaura village, 5 km west of Sitamarhi town, which is believed to be the birthplace of Mother Sita. There is a story related to this that once there was a severe famine in Mithila and King Janak was advised to plow the field. After worshiping Mahadev, when King Janak was plowing, then an earthen vessel came out from the ground, in which Mother Sita was found in the infant state. There is now a Haleshwar temple at this place and it is believed that a king named Videha got this Shiva temple constructed here for the Putreshti Yagya. There is also a lake named Janaki Kund, which is said to give birth to children by taking a bath. According to the official website of Lakhisarai district, on April 7, 1977, a boy named Ashok discovered a giant Shivling from under the ground here. On February 11, 1973, the Shankaracharya of Jagannathpuri laid the foundation stone of the temple complex here. The current temple was renovated on 15 November 2002 under the Shri Indradamneshwar Mahadev Temple Trust.

Mahavir Mandir
Mahavir Mandir located near Patna Junction is one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman. This is one of the best and most ancient Hanuman temples in the country. Mahavir Mandir is the most famous temple in North India. Lakhs of devotees visit the temple every year. The idol of Sankat Mochan holds a special place in the hearts of the devotees. The idol of Goddess Uma and Lord Mahodar is installed in this temple, for which people reach from far and wide to worship. In this Shakti Peeth, Uma is worshiped as Mahadevi. Earlier there used to be a dense forest at this place. There were seven peepal trees in the middle of this forest. At the time of the felling of trees, a blood-like red substance started coming out of them and a huge Shivling was found from inside. After which the worship of Lord Shiva started here.

Patan Devi Temple
The history of Patan Devi Temple in Patna, the capital of Bihar is considered to be very interesting. It is believed by the local people that this temple protects the city of Patna and hence the temple is also known as Rakshika Bhagwati Patneshwari. Patandevi temple is also one of the 51 Shaktipeeths where the thigh of Mata Sati fell. The idols of Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati, and Mahakali are also installed inside this temple, and worship is done with great pomp during Navratras.
