This stepwell is present in the form of remains in Hirapur Garhi located in Girdharpur town of Sheopur district. Raja Girdhar Singh Gaur got 8 step wells built in Garhi during his reign 250 years ago. There is a stepwell in it, which is called the Tantrik stepwell. There is an anecdote among the villagers about this stepwell. People say that after drinking the water of this stepwell, the real brothers used to quarrel. When such incidents started happening between the royal family and other people, the king gave this Patwa. Legend has it that an angry tantrik had cast a spell, after which the water from this stepwell had such an effect. The stepwell is about 100 square feet and it is 10 feet deep. This stepwell is located near Shivji's place in Soorti Bagh in the Garhi complex. Earlier there were mango trees here and the king often used to visit this garden. Today four-five step-wells are left here. Even today there is water in a stepwell.
The legend associated with this stepwell is that by drinking the water of this stepwell, even the real brothers started fighting with each other. When such incidents increased with the royal family and other people, the ruler decided to close this stepwell. A legend is also prevalent among the people regarding Tantriks. It is said that once there was a fierce fight between two magicians. One magician broke the palm tree with a spell, then another joined it. But one end is connected with a slight difference in the joining of the tree. This tree existed for a long time. Even today a huge crowd of people comes to see this palace. The residents here say that the fame of this palace is far and wide. To see this stepwell and palace, tourists come not only from the country but also from abroad. There is a temple of Lord Shiva outside the palace, but now the goddess statue has been installed in it. A small temple inside the citadel houses a Shivalinga and a Bhairava idol. The palace is on the verge of destruction.
