This notable destination is famous for skiing and is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. How to reach Auli:
Auli is situated at an altitude of about 20,000 feet and to reach there one has to first travel to Joshimath. There are three ways to reach Auli from Joshimath. The first option is to use the ropeway, which offers an adventurous experience while taking you to Auli. The ropeway fare is Rs 1,000 per person for a round trip. Alternatively, you can reach Auli by road, which is approximately 16 kilometers long. The third route is an 8-kilometer trek, which allows you to reach Auli on foot. However, ropeway is considered to be the best way to reach Auli due to its natural beauty.

On reaching Auli you will find yourself surrounded by pristine snow. It is said that Lord Hanuman stayed here while going to the Himalayas to bring Sanjeevani Booti. You can visit the temple dedicated to him. Various adventure activities are available in Auli, of which skiing is the most popular. Apart from skiing, you can also enjoy trekking. There are many trekking routes starting from Auli, making it an ideal place for adventure lovers.

Things to keep in mind:
While departing from Joshimath, ensure that you have enough cash as there is no ATM facility in Auli. Additionally, if you are traveling by road, fill your fuel tank at Joshimath as there is no refueling option at Auli. Accommodation options in Joshimath are available for around Rs 500 per night, making it a convenient stop before your Auli adventure.
