After birth, little Krishna was secretly left by his father Vasudev at his cousin Nand Baba's house in Gokul. Kanhaiya's childhood was spent in Gokul as the son of Nandbaba and his wife Mata Yashoda. Later he came to Vrindavan. Kanha used to play in the streets of Gokul and Vrindavan, and used to take his cows for grazing. There are many temples of Krishna in the streets of Gokul and Vrindavan, which bring back memories of him. Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan is also in these temples. Banke Bihari Temple of Vrindavan is one of the oldest temples in India. Following a prophecy, Kansa imprisoned his sister and brother-in-law. The prison where Kanha was born is today known as Krishna Janmabhoomi. Krishna Janmabhoomi has been prepared as a beautiful temple. An artificial cave has been made after entering the temple, where the whole story of Krishna's birth is shown to the devotees through tableaus. Guruvayoor Temple, Kerala

Jagannath Puri Temple of Orissa is one of the Char Dhams of India. Here Lord Krishna is seated with elder brother Balram and sister Subhadra. It is believed that after Dwapar, Lord Krishna started residing in Puri. The annual Rath Yatra of Jagannath Puri is famous all over the world. Devotees come here from far and wide to pull the chariot of Lord Krishna. Shrinathji Temple, Nathdwara
Shrinathji's temple is in Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Here Lord Krishna is called Srinath. This temple is considered to be the foremost among the major pilgrimage places of the Vallabha sect of the Vaishnav sect. Nathdwara Paddy is situated on the banks of Banas River in Rajsamand district, about 48 kilometers from Udaipur. When the cruel Mughal ruler Aurangzeb ordered the demolition of the Gokul temple, Vallabh Goswami took the idol here and came to Nathdwara and re-established the idol here. This temple was built in the 12th century.

Sri Krishna Matha Temple, Udupi
