Gulmarg in Kashmir is considered to be the longest ropeway in Asia, while the second one is Auli-Joshimath Ropeway. In 1982, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi laid the foundation stone of this 4.15 km long ropeway and it was completed in 1994. To reach this place surrounded by mountains and greenery, situated at a distance of about 320 kilometers from Delhi, Dehradun can be reached through train and bus transport.
