The cave of Baba Barfani, one of the holiest places of Hinduism, has opened for devotees. Amarnath Yatra has started from 29 June 2024. This Shivling made of natural snow is also called Swayambhu Himani Shivling. This journey is considered to be very difficult. Devotees of Lord Bholenath can go here for darshan throughout the month of Sawan, which will conclude on Rakshabandhan.

However, given the difficulty of the journey, the health check-up of the pilgrims coming here is done, only after that the journey is allowed. Still, the devotees going on Amarnath Yatra should take care of some things in advance. Go with full preparation, and keep in mind what to do and what not to do during the journey.

How to reach
The Amarnath cave is a mountainous and inaccessible place, where there is no direct road route from many parts of the country to reach. In such a situation, first reach Jammu. You can reach Jammu by train or bus. If you are traveling by train, you can reach Udhampur railway station. Then you can reach Srinagar by road. You can reach Srinagar and Jammu airport by flight. Now the further journey starts from Pahalgam or Baltal. Pahalgam is 92 km from Srinagar, while Baltal is located 93 km away.

Health tips during Amarnath Yatra
The weather remains bad here due to the cave being 3888 feet above sea level. Low air pressure and cold can cause problems.

For this, the traveler should make it a habit to walk 5 to 7 km daily.

Carry light food items during the journey and eat light and sattvic food during the journey.

Along with light clothes, carry some woolen clothes, because weather changes are common in hilly areas.

Necessary documents

During Amarnath Yatra, keep necessary documents like identity card, name, address, and the number of a fellow traveler written on a slip. Also, keep photocopies of necessary documents.

Medical Kit
Keep a small first aid box in your bag, which should contain some essential medicines. You can carry medicines and instant oxygen spray to meet the shortage of oxygen during travel. Keep spray for body pain, medicine for cough and cold, etc.
