Guru Nanak Jayanti is being celebrated on 15 November 2024. Guru Nanak Dev is considered to be the first Guru and founder of Sikhism. He was a great spiritual saint, poet and social reformer who raised his voice against the evils prevalent in the society and showed the path of devotion.

The most famous and prominent Gurudwara of Delhi is located in Connaught Place. This holy place named Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is dedicated to Guru Har Kishan Ji. The calm lake and beautiful decoration here gives peace to the devotees. Kirtan, Ardas and Langar are organized here on Guru Nanak Jayanti, where hundreds of devotees gather. The main attraction for the devotees is the water of the holy lake here which is called Amrit.

Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib
Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib is located on Raisina Road near the Parliament House of the capital Delhi, which has historical importance. The last rites of Guru Tegh Bahadur were performed here. This Gurudwara has also witnessed the Indian freedom struggle. The calm atmosphere and historical importance here makes this Gurudwara special.

Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib
Gurudwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib is located in Chandni Chowk which is one of the oldest Gurudwaras in Delhi. This Gurudwara is dedicated to the sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur. On the day of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the atmosphere here becomes devotional. Devotees from all over the country come here to participate in the Sangat and listen to Kirtan.

Gurudwara Damdama Sahib
The Gurudwara related to Guru Gobind Singh is also located in Delhi. Gurudwara Damdama Sahib is in Hauz Khas of the capital. It is called Damdama because the Guru had stayed here. On Guru Nanak Jayanti, a grand Kirtan Darbar and Seva is organized here, in which many devotees participate.

Gurudwara Nanak Piao Sahib
Gurudwara Nanak Piao Sahib is in Model Town, Delhi. This Gurudwara reminds of the time of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's visit. It is said that when Guru Nanak came to Delhi, he gave water to the needy here. That is why it is called Nanak Piao. On Guru Nanak Jayanti, a special Sangat is organized here and a large number of people participate in the Langar Seva.
