Auli is a very beautiful place in Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand, India, which is also known as the Mini Switzerland of India. Skiing race
FIS has authorized Auli for Skiing Race. Let us tell you that this is the only place that is authorized by FIS for skiing races. There is a 1300-meter-long ski track for skiing.

Sleeping Beauty
A mountain is visible right in front of Auli which after being covered with snow takes the shape of a lying down girl. This beautiful scene is known as Sleeping Beauty.

Snow is made when there is no snowfall
The world's highest artificial lake is located in Auli. In the year 2010, this lake with a capacity of 25 thousand km was constructed. When there is no snowfall in Auli, artificial snow is made from the water of this lake. Machines made in France have been installed here to make ice.

Asia's second longest ropeway
The 4.15 km long ropeway connecting Joshimath to Auli is the second longest ropeway in Asia. This ropeway takes people to Auli at a height of more than ten thousand feet above sea level through ten towers. This 22 km long ropeway is the second longest ropeway in Asia. Its speed is considered more than the rest of the country's ropeway. The cabin can accommodate 25 tourists at a time.

Trishul mountain
The Trishul mountain, situated 23490 ft above sea level, is a major attraction of Auli. The name of this mountain is derived from the trident of Lord Shiva. A mysterious water body, the Roopkund Lake is situated at the foot of this mountain.

Soldhar Tapovan
This is a major tourist destination of Auli. The hot water fountains running here are worth seeing. But to go here, tourists need to be very careful. It is said that tourists who are mentally and physically strong can easily visit this place.

Nanda Devi
The highest mountain, Nanda Devi, is situated at an altitude of 7,817 meters. Nanda Devi is one of the highest hill stations in India. The peak is named for the blessings of the goddess herself. The Nanda Devi National Park that surrounds the peak is also a place where you can spot flora and fauna and biodiversity.

Artificial lake
Auli's Artificial Lake is an ancient lake, situated at a very high altitude and is one of the highest man-made lakes in the world. The lake was created by the government to provide artificial snow on the ski slopes during months of low snowfall. The water from this lake is fed into snow guns placed along the ski slopes.

Joshimath
Joshi Math is at a distance of 12 kilometers from Auli. It is considered to be the gateway to Badrinath and the Valley of Flowers. Joshimath city is also known as 'Jyotirmath'. It is believed that Mahaguru Adi Shankaracharya attained enlightenment here. There is also Shankaracharya's Math and Amar Kalp Vriksha here. The tree is believed to be around 2,500 years old.

Chenab Lake
Chenab Lake is a beautiful lake situated on the Dang. Dang is a small village. One has to climb very high to see Chenab Lake. If you can climb, then definitely visit this place, because you don't get a chance to see the panoramic view here again and again.

Vanshinarayan Temple Kalpeshwar
One has to walk a lot to reach this place. If you can walk then definitely go here. To reach this place, first one has to come from Joshimath to Helang Chatti. It is 12 km away from Auli. After walking 10 kilometers from Helang Chatti, the valley of Kalpeshwar comes. Vanshinarayan Temple is only 2 km away from Kalpeshwar. You will find immense peace in Vanshinarayan Temple.

Chhatra Kund
Chhatra Kund Sarovar built in the middle of the forest is at a distance of one kilometer from Gursaun. The site is situated amidst a dense forest. The scenic lake here is very much liked by the tourists. Beautiful views of nature are worth seeing from here.

Sanjivani Shikhar
Auli is also considered a storehouse of medicinal plants. For this reason, it has also got the name of Sanjivani Shikhar. It is said that during the Ramayana period, when Hanumanji came to the Himalayas to collect Sanjivani herbs, he stopped at the mound of Auli and saw the Dronagiri mountain from here and saw the divine light of Sanjivani herbs. There is also a grand temple of Hanumanji on this Sanjivani Shikhar of Auli.

Vishnuprayag
Vishnuprayag is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and is situated at an altitude of 1,372 meters above sea level. You can also find a famous Vishnu temple on this majestic beach which was built by the Maharani of Indore in 1889. Here the two tributaries of Alaknanda and Dahliganga can be seen together. Vishnuprayag is one of the five places (Panchprayag) where the river meets its sister tributaries before turning into the mighty Ganges River.

Trekking
Auli has some great slopes where you can trek. Peaks ranging from about 2500 to 3000 meters, Auli has good trekking routes for trekking enthusiasts. You can trek to Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Kamet, Man Parvat, Dunagiri, and Joshimath from Auli. Other smaller trekking ranges are Gerson, Tali, Kuari Pass, Khulara, and Tapovan.

Grand Badri
This place is situated in the heart of a dense forest. Situated at an altitude of 2744 meters above sea level, this site is one of the five Badri temples. Narasimha, an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu An image of him is enshrined in the temple located here. Tourists can reach this place by trekking the route from Tapovan onwards to the Dhauliganga River.

Rudraprayag
One of the five 'prayers' (confluences) of the Alaknanda River, Rudraprayag is the meeting point of the Alaknanda and Mandakini Rivers. Rudraprayag remains a busy point due to its proximity to Badrinath and Kedarnath temples. There are many temples located nearby like Rudranath Temple, Chamunda Devi Temple, and many more that you must visit.

When to go to Auli
Though you can visit Auli 365 days a year the best time is between November and March. Due to heavy snowfall between December and February, the climate here remains very cold, while the weather between May and November remains cool.
