Golden Temple
The Golden Temple has a prestigious history dating back 400 years. Amritsar's top attraction is the Golden Temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib. Not just a tourist spot, this legendary religious site is one of the most sacred places in the world for Sikhs, and religious fervor, sanctity, culture, and divinity can be experienced in this temple. The history of the Golden Temple tells that after undergoing demolitions, it was rebuilt with marble and gold in 1830 by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. This temple is located in the center of Amritsar city. The kitchen and langar of the Golden Temple is one of the main attractions of this place. A minimum of 40,000 people eat at the langar every day and during weekends and holidays, the number goes up to 1,00,000.

Akal Takht
Akal Takht, also known as Amar Sinhasan, is located in Amritsar. It is situated as the highest political institution of the Sikhs and this Akal Takht was established by the 6th Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Har Gobind Singh Ji in the year 1606. Akal Takht is located in the famous Golden Temple of Amritsar, which is one of the five Akal Takhts.

Wagah Border
The marked border between India and Pakistan, at a distance of 28 kilometers from Amritsar and 22 kilometers from Lahore, has been named Wagah Border. Wagah Border is located in Amritsar, Punjab India. Tourists come to visit Wagah Border in the evening. There is no entry fee to visit this place. The border gate is open from 10 am to 4 pm and the 45-minute ceremony starts at noon and continues till sunset.

Jallianwala Bagh
The historic Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden near the Golden Temple in Amritsar. This Jallianwala Bagh is spread over 6.5 acres of land and India has witnessed one of the tragic events of the year. During British rule, thousands of children, elderly, youth, and women gathered at this place for a peaceful celebration of Baisakhi, as per the orders of General Dyer, indiscriminate firing was ordered. Thousands of innocent people were killed in this incident. This massacre place was inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Prasad on 13 April 1961.

Located in the heart of Amritsar, Govindgarh Fort is one of the most historical tourist attractions of Amritsar. The fort was under the control of the Indian Army and was for their use only until 2017 when it was open for public viewing. Govindgarh Fort is being developed as a live museum and art gallery. The place is home to some of the oldest documents and arts of Sikhism. Apart from this, the famous Zamzama cannons are also present in Govindgarh Fort which is the main attraction of this place. The best time to visit here is from Monday to Sunday from 10 am to 10 pm.

Khair Uddin Masjid
Among the places to see in Amritsar, Khair Uddin Mosque is more famous for its architecture. Khair Uddin Mosque was established by Mohammad Khair Uddin.
