Your pet will be under guard supervision during the visit. However, the owner will have to make arrangements for food and drink. On the instructions of the Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer, Railway Board, the installation of a dog box has started in the Mechanical Workshop of North Eastern Railway.

A video went viral on social media in November. In which the person traveling by Rajdhani Superfast Express was taking his dog along in the AC coach. He had made a reservation for the dog in the name of his wife. After the video surfaced, questions were raised about the system. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway said that necessary guidelines and drawings have been issued for retrofitting of dog box in the guard room of available LHB power cars. This arrangement will facilitate people carrying dogs or other pets.

Preparation for making the dog box started

Meanwhile, the Railway Board has started the exercise of making dog boxes. In the new year, the facility will start getting in the guard room. Till now the boxes were being made in the guard room attached to LSCH luggage. However, there was no relief to the passengers due to the installation of an SLR in the middle of the rake of the train. People traveling in AC First were allowed to take a pet along, but for this, a full couple reservation had to be made.
