Tiger Hill, the highest peak of the Darjeeling-Kursiang range, is a famous tourist spot. 2. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the oldest of the three mountain railways in India. The other two mountain railways are the Nilgiri Mountain Railway in Tamil Nadu and the Kalka Shimla Railway in Himachal Pradesh. It was built between 1879 and 1881 to connect the hills of Darjeeling with the plains. DHR runs on a 2 ft gauge track. It is also known as Toy Train. The approximately 88 km long track from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling passes through spectacular loops and zigzag reverses. This is a train tour of about 7 hours through the Darjeeling Himalayan hilly terrain. A 2-hour joy ride is also provided between Ghum and Darjeeling, the highest railway station in India situated at an altitude of 7407 feet. The train halts at Ghoom for approximately 30 minutes.
