Tragic Tale of Betrayal and Loss in Haryana: Woman's Illicit Affair Leads to Three Deaths

A shocking chain of events in Ludana, Jind, Haryana, has led to the tragic deaths of three individuals, including a married couple. The entire incident, stemming from an illicit relationship, has shattered two families within a month.

Pooja, a woman from Ludana, had an affair with her cousin brother-in-law, Sonu. The relationship, which started years ago, eventually led to a horrifying act. On March 27, Pooja asked Sonu to kill her husband, Surendra. Sonu, who was also married, complied with her request. He first got Surendra drunk, then took him to a farm where he struck him on the head with a rod, rendering him unconscious. Sonu then administered an electric shock to Surendra using a cable, causing his death. Sonu returned with the body and, with Pooja’s help, staged the death as an accidental electrocution.

The family believed the story and conducted the last rites for Surendra. However, suspicions arose when CCTV footage showed Sonu removing Surendra's body from the scene. Further investigation revealed over 30 phone calls between Sonu and Pooja on the day of the murder, confirming their illicit relationship.

As the investigation progressed, Pooja, fearing exposure, consumed poison on April 15 and died shortly after. Sonu, overwhelmed by the consequences of his actions, fled the village. Meanwhile, the villagers began gossiping about the affair, and Sonu’s mother, Sudesh, became the target of cruel taunts. Unable to bear the shame, Sudesh tragically took her own life on April 22 by hanging herself. Sonu did not attend his mother's funeral.

The police, after receiving crucial evidence, recovered the iron rod and electric cable used in the murder, along with the car and bike that transported Surendra’s body. Sonu was arrested and has confessed to the murders during police interrogation.
