No More Toll Fees on Punhana Jurhera Road—Thousands to Benefit Daily
In a major relief for commuters, the Commercial Toll Plaza-42 (TP-42) on Punhana Jurhera Road near the Rajasthan border in Nuh district, Haryana, will cease operations from February 17, 2025, at midnight. This decision, welcomed by locals, will benefit thousands of daily commuters traveling between Haryana and NCR.
Why is the Toll Plaza Closing?
According to Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena, the toll plaza was operated by M/s A.S. Multipurpose Services under an 18-month contract, which expires on February 17 at 12:00 AM. Following the directive of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini, the Public Works Department (PWD) has instructed the permanent closure of the toll collection point.
Major Benefits for Commuters
✅ Toll-Free Travel – Vehicles can now pass through this stretch without paying toll charges.
✅ Daily Relief for Thousands – Frequent travelers between Haryana, NCR, and Rajasthan will save money and time.
✅ Reduction in Multiple Toll Payments – Commuters in Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Gurugram, and Palwal face toll charges at several points, including:
- Bandhwadi Toll (Gurugram route)
- Ballabhgarh-Sohna Toll
- Badarpur Border Toll (Delhi route)
- Gadpuri Toll (Palwal route)
- Kiranj Toll (Delhi-Mumbai Expressway)
Upcoming Road Infrastructure Improvements
In addition to this toll removal, efforts are underway to widen the Gurugram-Alwar Highway (Highway 248A)—infamously known as "Khooni Road" in Mewat due to frequent accidents.
🔹 121 acres of land has been secured for road expansion and tree plantation.
🔹 Six village panchayats have approved land transfer proposals.
🔹 The proposal is now awaiting approval from senior officials in Chandigarh.
This move is set to enhance road safety, ease traffic congestion, and improve connectivity for commuters in the region.
