HPV in Male: One of the most common and dangerous diseases that spread from women to men is the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). This disease spreads from women to men. However, in many cases it spreads from men to women during sexual contact. It is the most common sexually transmitted infection worldwide and is often ignored due to lack of awareness.

What is HPV?

HPV is a virus that has many different strains. Some strains cause minor problems such as genital warts, while more serious types of HPV can cause cervical cancer in women and penile, throat and anal cancers in men.

How does HMP spread?

HMP is primarily spread during sexual contact, whether it is vaginal, anal or oral sex. Having unprotected sex with an infected person can easily cause the virus to enter the body. Sometimes the virus is present in the body but does not cause any symptoms, due to which a person can unknowingly infect his partner.

What are the symptoms of HPV in men?

  • Warts on the genitals or near the anus
  • sore throat or mouth due to oral sex
  • In many cases there are no symptoms, in such cases the condition can sometimes become serious.

Why is it dangerous for both?

HMP infection poses serious health risks to both men and women. It can cause life-threatening diseases like cancer and there is no permanent cure for it, only treatment can reduce the symptoms and effects.

Ways to prevent HPV

  • HPV vaccine should be administered between the ages of 9–26 years.
  • Using a condom while having sex reduces the risk of spreading the infection.
  • Women should keep getting Pap smear done and men should keep getting medical checkup done.
