There is no connection between land and job, argued Rabri Devi's lawyer in Rouse Avenue Court

Special CBI Judge Vishal Gog heard the framing of charges in the land for job case, where Rabri Devi's lawyer argued that there was no direct connection between land and job.

An important hearing was held in the Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday in the land-for-job case. This case is related to many accused including RJD supremo and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. Special CBI judge Vishal Gog is hearing the framing of charges in this case. There are a total of 103 accused in this case, out of which four have died.

At the same time, the lawyer appearing on behalf of Rabri Devi argued in the court that there is no direct connection between land and job in this entire case, when the land was bought and money was given in exchange for it, then at the most it can be said that the land was bought at a cheap rate, but it is wrong to call it land in exchange for job.

How are Rabri Devi beneficiaries- Lawyer

In Rouse Avenue Court, Rabri Devi's lawyer raised the question in the court that CBI alleges that Rabri Devi benefited, but when the land deal was done through a sale deed, how can she be considered a beneficiary? If I am the buyer and am paying the money, then how am I taking a benefit? Benefit is only there when the land is given for free or as a favor.

Mention of the witness statement raised in court

While arguing in the court, the lawyer said that a key witness of the CBI itself told that he was asked to sell the land because Lalu Yadav wanted to make a big deal. Buying land is not a crime. The CBI says that the land was taken in exchange for a job, but they themselves have admitted that the land was bought, so where is the question of bribe?

CBI's allegation in the case

Investigative agency CBI has alleged that Lalu Yadav, while being the Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009, made recruitments for Group D category in West Central Railway Zone located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh and in return got the land registered in the name of his family or associates from the candidates and their families. At present, the hearing on behalf of Rabri Devi will also take place in Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday.
