There is a campaign going on in the entire country against Bangladeshi intruders. Every day there are reports that Bangladeshis are caught while entering India from the border and sometimes they are found living in some corner of the country for years with fake identities. The latest news is that the police in Mumbai have arrested 16 Bangladeshi citizens. These people were living illegally in India.
When the Dongri police came to know about this, their team arrested 16 Bangladeshi citizens from Mankhurd, Wasi Naka, Kalyan, Mumbra, Kalamboli, Panvel, Koparkhairane areas .
This is not the first time that Mumbai Police has taken action against Bangladeshi intruders. Big actions have been taken before this as well. Just two days ago, 201 Bangladeshis were arrested from Mumbai and even before that, their crackdown was intense.
Let us tell you that the role of the police in catching Bangladeshis in Mumbai is as much as that of the people who give information about them. Today we are going to tell you the interesting story of one such police informer who made it his life's purpose to catch Bangladeshis after being betrayed by his wife. Due to his efforts, the police had caught 3500-4000 Bangladeshis and sent them back to their country by the year 2023.
The identity of this 46-year-old police informer has not been revealed in the reports, but it has been reported that his Bangladeshi wife had cheated him. After this, he vowed to select Bangladeshis and send them back to their country. During a conversation with Mid-Day in the year 2023, he told that he lives in Thane. He grew up here. Abi runs his poultry shop. He started his career as a police informer 20 years ago when his first wife Saleha Begum cheated him and left him.
According to this police informer, Saleha Begum, whom he married, used to work as a dancer in a bar. When he fell in love with her, their meetings increased. Saleha told him that she was from Kolkata, but in reality she was from Bangladesh. After marriage, she took him and his two daughters to Bangladesh. Initially, he thought that they were in Kolkata, but later he realized that this was Bangladesh.
According to the informant, his wife took him to a village under Kolaroa police station in Satkhira district of Bangladesh. Saleha's family did not know that she had married. Her family thought that her husband was a Hindu. The informant tried to tell again and again that he was a Muslim, he belonged to the same religion, but no one believed him.
They took off his clothes for investigation, saw his circumcision, but still did not believe it and handed him over to the police. The police kept him in custody and beat him badly. Meanwhile neither Saleha nor anyone from his family came to meet him. When the police asked for money for his release, he called his father from there. After listening to everything, his father sold a piece of land he had bought in Bengal and paid Rs 5 lakh to the Kolaroa police.
As soon as the informer was released from the police, he asked Saleha to come back, but he refused. He then returned to his country with his elder daughter and after coming here, he vowed that he would not let a single Bangladeshi live in India. The informer later got married again. Today he has three children. His elder daughter is married.
For the last 20 years, he has been working to catch Bangladeshis. Today, he has gained so much experience that he can tell from the way any Bangladeshi citizen talks who is a Bangladeshi and who is not. He easily identifies such people and then their information is given to the police. Till now, he has worked with many police agencies in this direction. He says that the government needs to make strict laws to stop Bangladeshi infiltration.
