Yamaha introduces the new 2026 Yamaha R7.
At the ongoing EICMA 2025 motor show in Milan, Italy, Yamaha unveiled its new 2026 Yamaha R7. This bike is more advanced and high-tech than ever before. The company has provided numerous updates that make it one of the most powerful and attractive sports bikes in its segment. The new R7 has been upgraded at every level, from design to technology, to provide riders with improved control, performance, and a comfortable riding experience.
Smarter with a 5-inch TFT display
- In fact, the new Yamaha R7 now features a 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) system, which was previously used in Yamaha's supersport bike, the YZF-R1. This system provides the rider with advanced features such as traction control, slide control, wheelie control, brake control, engine braking management, and launch control. These controls allow the rider to fine-tune the bike to their liking. The bike also features a new 5-inch TFT display with real-time data and a smart interface. It also features the Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) system, which comes with three preset modes: Sport, Street, and Rain. There are also two custom and four track modes. The quickshifter system further enhances the bike's performance.
engine
- Engine specifications are the same reliable 698cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 73.4 hp and 68 Nm of torque. This engine is known for its smooth performance and high-revving capability. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, which delivers racing-like performance via a quickshifter system.
Strong chassis and improved handling
- Yamaha has also completely upgraded the R7's chassis. The bike now features a new steel tubular frame, providing greater stability and control. Its asymmetrical swingarm and lightweight 10-spoke wheels further improve the bike's handling. These wheels are shod with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tires, which provide excellent grip and control. Furthermore, the riding position has been designed to ensure the rider feels comfortable, even during long rides.
Colour options and limited edition variants
- The new Yamaha R7 is offered in three colors - Black, Blue, and Breaker Cyan/Raven, and the company has also launched a special 70th Anniversary Limited Edition (Red & White). The new Yamaha R7 sets new standards for Yamaha not only in its design, but also in performance and technology. This bike is designed for riders who want the perfect balance of adrenaline and style.
