PSL 11 Auction Unsold Player List

PSL 11 Auction:  Several prominent international players suffered a major setback in the first auction for the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). This time, the league adopted a new auction model, but contrary to expectations, many star players went unsold. This auction proved to be a surprise for cricket fans in many ways.

The biggest name that went unsold was Australia's experienced batsman Usman Khawaja. South African spinner Keshav Maharaj also went unsold. Furthermore, England's star batsman Dawid Malan and explosive opener Jason Roy also went empty-handed at the auction.

No bets were placed on foreign players.

Several T20 specialists were also overlooked in the auction. England fast bowler Reece Topley, young Australian batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk, and New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham also failed to find a team. South Africa's reliable batsman Rassie van der Dussen and experienced spinner Imran Tahir were also omitted.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka stars were also out.

Bangladesh's veteran all-rounders Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were also not bought by any franchise. Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Chandimal and batsman Charith Asalanka also faced disappointment this time.

Pakistani players also did not get a place.

Surprisingly, several domestic Pakistani players, including Hussain Talat, Musa Khan, and Rohail Nazir, failed to find favour with the teams.

It will be interesting to see how teams maintain balance without these star players in PSL 11, which begins on March 26 and runs until May 3. This auction has made it clear that recent performance, not just name, is now the most important criterion in T20 cricket.
