Starlink, which is preparing to launch in India, has received major approval in the US. Now, the company will be able to launch 7,500 new satellites into its network, providing a major boost to connectivity.

American billionaire Elon Musk's company, Starlink, is preparing to launch its satellite internet service in India. The company has received a major approval, allowing it to double the number of satellites in its network. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved the company's request to deploy 7,500 second-generation satellites. This will bring the total number of satellites in the company's network to 15,000.
Multiple benefits to the company
The FCC has not only given the company the green light to increase the number of satellites, but it will also be able to operate on five frequencies and waves that were previously restricted. FCC chief Brendan Carr stated that this approval will be a game-changer for next-generation services. The new satellites will enable the company to deliver superior satellite broadband capabilities. Musk's company plans to launch a total of 30,000 satellites, of which it has already received approval for 15,000. Under FCC conditions, the company must have half of its second-generation satellites operational by December 2028, and has until December 2031 to deploy the remaining satellites.
What is the benefit of this for India?
Starlink has received a provisional license to launch services in India, and trials are underway. Now, the company has received approval to launch new satellites, which will significantly boost connectivity and benefit all countries around the world where Starlink services are available, including India. Starlink's senior team is in discussions with the Indian government, and it is expected that Starlink's satellite service will launch in India within the next few months.
