Delhi now has 13 points in 11 matches. Hyderabad, on the other hand, is in the 9th position with 7 points, its hopes of reaching the playoffs are completely over.

Top order completely collapsed

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and asked Delhi to bat first. SRH put Delhi Capitals on the backfoot right from the beginning. Pat Cummins took three wickets on the first ball of the first three overs and even after this the sequence of wickets did not stop, due to which Delhi finally had to bring Ashutosh as an impact sub.

Delhi Capitals' top order collapsed like a pack of cards. Karun Nair (0), Faf du Plessis (3), Abhishek Porel (8), KL Rahul (10), captain Akshar Patel (6) and Vipraj Nigam (18) returned to the pavilion within 62 runs. Pat Cummins and Harshal Patel bowled lethally.

However, a half-century partnership between Ashutosh (41) and Tristan Stubbs (41 not out) took Delhi to a respectable score. The ball was coming on in the first innings. Pat Cummins took three wickets for 19 runs in four overs.

Hyderabad out of playoffs

After the match was washed out, Hyderabad has 7 points in 11 matches. After this, even if it wins three matches, it will have only 13 points. 4 teams already have 14 or more points. The path of Delhi Capitals has also become difficult.

Delhi Capitals got 1 point for washing out the match. Now Delhi has 13 points. They have to win the remaining three matches, only then they can reach 19 points.
