The players' auction for the Women's Premier League (WPL) will be held in Mumbai on Monday (February 13). In a historic move, the BCCI has selected a female auctioneer.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has selected Mallika Advani as the auctioneer. This will be the first time that a woman will officiate an auction organized by the BCCI.

Based in Mumbai, Malika Advani works as a Mumbai-based art collector consultant and partner at Art India Consultants firm.

Three men have played the role of auctioneers in the IPL auction by the BCCI. Richard Madley's voice was the first to ring in the auction, followed by Hugh Edmonds

During the auction held in February last year, Adams suddenly fell from the stage. Charu Sharma had conducted the auction in the absence of Admeds, later Admeds returned.
