Asia Cup 2022 is going to start in UAE on the 27th of August. The first match of the tournament will be between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, while India will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28. The 15th edition of the Asia Cup was hosted by Sri Lanka, but in view of the ongoing economic crisis in the country, the board withdrew its hands.

Apart from India, a total of 6 teams are participating in this multinational tournament this year, which includes teams from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Another team will join these teams after the qualifying round. These teams are divided into two groups. Group A will feature the qualifying teams along with India and Pakistan, while Group B will have Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
