Mumbai Indians, who are on the verge of being knocked out of the tournament after losing six matches in a row, will take on Chennai Super Kings in Navi Mumbai's D.C. Y. It will be held at Patil Stadium at 7.30 pm.

Mumbai will try to keep the challenge alive by opening the account of victory in this match. Mumbai will be out of the tournament if they lose to Chennai on Thursday. Past winners Chennai are not in a good position either. Both teams are at the bottom of the table. Chennai have lost five of their last six matches.

The biggest concern for Mumbai is the form of captain Rohit Sharma, who has scored just 114 runs in six matches. If Mumbai want to chase the target or score big while playing first, then Rohit will have to play a big game. Young batsman Ishan Kishan has not done well either. He has scored 191 runs in six matches with the help of two fifties. While David Brewis, Tilak Verma and Suryakumar Yadav have played some good games but they have to accept the responsibility in the middle order. All-rounder Kieran Pollard has also been disappointed so far. He has failed in every match so far and has scored only 82 runs.

For Mumbai, bowling is more of a concern than batting. With the exception of Jaspreet Bumrah, other bowlers have done poorly so far. Timel Mills, Jaydev Unadkat, Basil Thampi or key spinner Murugan Ashwin will have to do their best now.

Rituraj Gaikwad's return to form is a positive sign for rival Chennai. He had scored 73 off 48 balls in the last match against Gujarat Titans. Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dubey set a fine example of their aggressive batting against Royal Challengers Bangalore but failed against Gujarat. Dubela Ambati Rayudu and Moin Ali need to shoulder more responsibility in the middle order.

Captain Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni can play the role of finisher. Jadeja has not done well in bowling yet. With the exception of Dwayne Bravo and spinner Mahesh Tikshna, the Chennai bowlers have not done well. With Deepak Chahar and Adam Milne not yet fully fit, Chennai will be in charge.
