Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a brilliant century on debut in the first Test being played between India and West Indies at the Windsor Park Stadium in Dominica. Yashasvi, opening the innings with captain Rohit Sharma, shared a 229-run partnership for the first wicket.

By the end of the second day's play, the 21-year-old Indian opener returned to the pavilion after scoring an unbeaten 146. Coaches Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli sitting in the dressing room gave him a standing ovation on Yashasvi's century innings.

Team India's young opener Yashasvi completed his century in the 70th over by taking a single off Athnaje. After scoring a century in the debut match itself, Yashasvi hugged captain Rohit Sharma while running like small children. Then Rohit patted him on the back and congratulated him.

Coaches Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli sitting in the dressing room stood up and started clapping on his innings. At the same time, Ravindra Jadeja and KS Bharat among other players praised the performance of the young batsman. The entire dressing room cheered on his century.

He also hit 14 fours during his batting. Yashasvi returned to the pavilion unbeaten with Virat Kohli till the end of the second day's play. Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the first Indian opener to score a century on his overseas debut.

By the end of the second day's play, India scored 312 runs for the loss of two wickets and took a 162-run lead over the hosts. Apart from Yashasvi at the crease, Virat Kohli is playing unbeaten with 36 runs.
