Women's Premier League 2023: In the match at DY Patil Stadium (Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai), decided to bat first after winning the toss. S Meghana and Sophia Dunkley pair added 34 runs for the first wicket for Gujarat Giants.


Deepti Sharma got her team the first wicket by dismissing Dunkley with a personal score of 13. Meghna also scored 24 runs in 15 balls and went on to score 38 runs. Annabel Sutherland and Sushma Verma could not do much and both were dismissed for 8 and 9 runs respectively.

Harleen Deol stood firm from one end and along with Ashley Gardner took the score to 120. Gardner was dismissed after scoring 25 runs. Harleen played an inning of 46 runs in 32 balls with the help of seven fours. Dayalan Hemlata remained unbeaten on 21 and Sneh Rana scored 9 runs and took the team to a good score. Deepti Sharma and Sophie Eccleston took two wickets each for UP Warriors.

UP Warriors vs Gujarat Giants, 3rd Match
Chasing the target, UP Warriors got off to a bad start and Kim Garth did the job of collecting the top order with the new ball. Captain Alyssa Healy got out after scoring 7 runs in the third over itself. After this, Garth dismissed Shweta Sehrawat on a personal score of 7 and did not allow Tahlia McGrath to even open the account.


From here Kiran Navagire batted with a bang and teamed up with Deepti Sharma to take the score to 86. Deepti was dismissed in the 12th over after scoring 11 runs. Kiran also got out in the next over. He played an inning of 53 runs. Two more wickets fell, taking the score to 105/7.

From here it seemed that UP would be defeated but Grace Harris did not give up and she shared an unbeaten 70-run partnership in just 26 balls with Sophie Eccleston to give her team a thrilling victory. The team needed 19 runs in the last over and these runs were scored with one ball remaining.

Harris remained unbeaten on 59 runs in 26 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes. At the same time, Eccleston contributed an unbeaten 22 runs in 12 balls. Kim Garth took five wickets for Gujarat Giants.
