Sofiya Qureshi: Madhya Pradesh Police, in compliance with the Supreme Court order, formed a three-member SIT late Monday night to investigate the remarks of state minister Vijay Shah against Colonel Sofia Qureshi. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) includes Inspector General of Police Pramod Verma, Deputy Inspector General Kalyan Chakraborty and Superintendent of Police Vahini Singh. The court reprimanded Vijay Shah for the "indecent" remarks made on Colonel Qureshi. Also, directed to form a three-member Special Investigation Team to investigate the matter related to the FIR registered against him.

Supreme Court reprimands Vijay Shah

The apex court asked the Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police to constitute a three-member SIT headed by an IG rank officer by 10 am on Tuesday, including a woman officer, which will investigate the matter related to the FIR registered following the order of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The minister had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court's order to register an FIR for his remarks. During the hearing, the bench said that he is a public figure and a seasoned politician and hence his words should have some weight.

The Supreme Court reprimanded Minister Vijay Shah and said, "You are a public and experienced person, you should be careful of your words while speaking. This is a serious issue related to the armed forces.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and minister of Madhya Pradesh Vijay Shah created a big controversy by making objectionable remarks against Colonel Qureshi. He called the Colonel "sister of terrorists".
