The young man who was seriously injured due to the bursting of the western toilet seat of the toilet of a house in Beta 2 police station area has been admitted to JIMS hospital by his relatives.

The youth's relatives have expressed the possibility of the accident being caused by a methane gas explosion. The police have denied such information. House number C-364 in Sector-36 belongs to Sunil Pradhan. There is a western toilet in the toilet of the house.

It was told that on Saturday afternoon around 3 o'clock, his son Ashu Nagar (20) flushed the toilet after defecation and as soon as he turned on the flush to pour water, the western toilet seat exploded with a bang. After this a fire broke out. Ashu's face, hands, legs and private parts got burnt due to the explosion and fire. He got seriously injured due to the remains of the seat hitting him due to the blast. Hearing the sound of the blast along with Ashu's scream, the relatives reached the spot. Somehow Ashu was taken out of the fire and admitted to JIMS hospital. Doctors say that it will take time for Ashu to recover.

He says that the AC exhaust is installed in the shaft between the washroom and the kitchen. There is a green belt behind it. He also says that the toilet is used regularly. There is a possibility of an incident due to methane gas getting stuck inside the pipe

Harendra Bhati of Active Citizen Team says that the sewer system of Greater Noida is a flop. Earlier, a vent pipe was installed in the toilet so that the methane gas coming out of the sewer could go into the atmosphere without causing any harm. Currently, all the methane gas gets stuck inside the pipe. This must have been the reason for this incident.

Accused of not repairing the broken sewer line for one and a half years

Residents say that the sewer line near P-3 roundabout has been broken for the last one and a half years. We have requested the authority officials several times to repair it, but the sewer line has not been repaired yet. The responsible officials are being negligent in getting it repaired.

Greater Noida Authority's ACEO Srilakshmi VS said that this is the first such case. The authority will investigate the reasons behind this incident.
