Some women's teams have qualified for the Olympics through the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup. Fans were eager to know which ground would host the cricket matches at the mega-event of the Games. The matches will be held at Shah Rukh Khan's stadium.

You heard that right: the Olympic matches will be held at a stadium built by Shah Rukh Khan 's Kolkata Knight Riders family franchise (the Los Angeles Knight Riders). This stadium, located in Pomona, California, is named the Knight Riders Cricket Ground. The first match played at the ground was the 2026 Major League Cricket season, currently underway. The match was played between the Los Angeles Knight Riders and the Washington Freedom.

Puja was held in the stadium before the match.

A pre-match puja was held at the stadium, a video of which was shared by the Los Angeles Knight Riders. The video shows the completion of the puja ritual. After this, the first match was played on the field. Seven Major League Cricket matches will be played there before the Olympics.

 

Features of the field

The main square of the ground has eight wickets. Its dimensions meet ICC standards. It also features six 120-foot-tall floodlight towers. Over 32,000 metric tons of earth were removed to build the ground.

Cricket schedule at the Olympics

Cricket at the Olympics will be played in a T20 format. Six men's and women's teams will participate. All matches will be held at the Knight Riders Cricket Ground in Pomona, approximately 50 kilometers from downtown Los Angeles. The matches will be held between July 12 and 29, 2028.

The women's teams of Australia, Great Britain (through England), India and South Africa have secured Olympic quotas through the 2026 T20 World Cup.
