Samsung Silicon-Carbon Battery Test: These days, smartphone companies are competing to provide the largest possible battery in their phones. Honor and Realme have already launched phones with 10,000mAh batteries, and other companies, including Vivo, are poised to surpass this figure in the near future. Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing to outdo everyone in this competition. Recently leaked internal documents reveal that the company is testing an 18,000mAh battery, but the results haven't met expectations.
Samsung is testing silicon-carbon batteries.
According to reports, Samsung is testing two large battery packs, 12,000 mAh and 18,000 mAh. Both are silicon-carbon battery packs . It was reported a few days ago that Samsung, which had previously avoided silicon-carbon technology, has now changed its mind. There is speculation that these batteries may be included in the company's Galaxy S series in the coming years. The advantage of silicon batteries is that they can store more energy in a smaller space, allowing for a larger battery capacity without requiring a larger phone.
The test results were not good.
Samsung's results with both new batteries haven't been good. The company struggled with the size of the 12,000mAh battery pack, and swelling was observed. Meanwhile, heat was observed in the 18,000mAh battery, and its charging management software isn't fully developed yet. Samsung previously tested a 20,000mAh prototype, but it also failed. It was targeted for 1,500 charging cycles, but it failed after only 960.
