Promising and brave Lieutenant Shashank Tiwari, a resident of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, was martyred in Sikkim. During an operational patrol, one of his fellow soldiers fell into the river. The flow of water was fast, the soldier started drowning. Seeing this, 23-year-old Lieutenant Shashank jumped into the river. He pulled his friend out of the jaws of death, but lost his own life. Today his body will reach Ayodhya.

Shashank's father is an officer in the Merchant Navy, who will reach India late tonight. Therefore, tomorrow i.e. on Saturday, Shashank's last rites will be performed with state honors at Jamthara Ghat. Shashank was the only son of the family. He has a sister who lives in Dubai. He was selected in NDA in 2019. He got commissioned last year and his first posting was in Sikkim.

Shashank was a resident of Majhwan Gaddopur in Thana Cantt area of ​​Ayodhya. His father Jang Bahadur Tiwari is in the Merchant Navy and is currently posted in the US. Mother Neeta Tiwari is often unwell. She lives with the family in a residence in Kaushalpuri Colony.

Shashank Tiwari was very bright in studies since childhood. He qualified NDA in the very first attempt. He joined the army on 17 December 2024. Desh seva was ingrained in his veins. Shashank's only dream was to wear a uniform and protect the motherland. Today he fulfilled that dream. By sacrificing his life. His body will be brought to Ayodhya today by aircraft. Tomorrow, with full state honors, his last rites will be performed at Majha Jamthara crematorium in Ayodhya. Martyr Shashank's maternal uncle said - Shashank was always good in studies. He did his primary education from Jingal Bell School in Shashank city. In the year 2019, he passed the intermediate examination from JBA Academy. After this, he got selected in NDA.
